June 2009 will be a big month for New Zealand Arts with the launch of the first ever MOTION Festival. The festival is a multi medium event run over 2 days from June 12th - 14th. Not only will it include the very best professional and emerging artists from both New Zealand and around the world, there will be film festival screenings, over 10 live bands and its all hosted in one spot - the TAPAC performing arts center in Auckland. This event will be unique in that it will not just focus on one artistic talent or medium but will incorporate many different artists in many different mediums. It will also be unique in that it will feature both exhibition and COMPETITION sections. Artists entered in the competition section will compete in a variety of categories judged by audience ballot which will then be tallied and announced at our closing party on Saturday June 13th. The show’s categories will include: Photography Painting/drawing Sculpture Design Film making Entry into the competition section of the show is $15 per piece. Entry into the exhibition section of the show is $10 per piece.
